not to judge on appearances.
Be prepared. Speak on the phone a few times first if possible. Check the location of your date, time your route. Try your outfit on, book a babysitter. Have an escape plan. Leave contact details with your babysitter, neighbour or friend. Sparkle. Ask yourself what are your favourite things, what was the joke you found so funny. Be as honest and factual as possible regarding your personal circumstances. Try not to be bitter or derogatory about jobs, partners or family members. If in doubt smile. Be polite not pushy.
